הַנַּעַר֮ בָּא֒ וְדָוִ֗ד קָ֚ם מֵאֵ֣צֶל הַנֶּ֔גֶב וַיִּפֹּ֨ל לְאַפָּ֥יו אַ֛רְצָה וַיִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ שָׁלֹ֣שׁ פְּעָמִ֑ים וַֽיִּשְּׁק֣וּ ׀ אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־רֵעֵ֗הוּ וַיִּבְכּוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־רֵעֵ֔הוּ עַד־דָּוִ֖ד הִגְדִּֽיל׃

E appena il ragazzo se ne fu andato, David si alzò da un posto verso sud, si lasciò cadere a terra e si prostrò tre volte; e si baciarono l'un l'altro e piansero l'uno con l'altro, finché David non lo superò.

Until Dovid exceeded. I.e., he cried more.34I.e., ‘more than Yonoson.’ However, according to Ralbag, ‘more than is fitting.’ Dovid cried more than Yonoson because unlike Yonoson who could return home now, Dovid would have to flee from Shaul who was seeking to kill him.
